Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Announces First‑Ever Dietetics Apprenticeship

The Children’s Dietetic Team is delighted to announce that Kane, our dedicated Dietetic Associate Practitioner, will begin a Dietetics Apprenticeship in March 2026. This marks the first apprenticeship of its kind within Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, and we are proud to support Kane as he takes this exciting next step in his career.

Apprenticeships offer a valuable opportunity to learn, gain hands‑on experience, and earn while training. Kane has been an integral part of our team for the past 16 months, consistently demonstrating his passion for nutrition and his commitment to delivering high‑quality care. His enthusiasm and professionalism demonstrated in every clinic have made a lasting impact on both colleagues and patients.

Kane had the following to say:

“I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to train as an apprentice dietitian. Being able to continue working in a role I enjoy, where I can support families and young people while also studying and developing my career, feels like a real privilege. I’m excited to meet other dietetic apprentices and learn about their roles and experiences.”

As a team, we are committed to living the Trust’s values of Caring, Learning and Growing. Supporting Kane’s professional development is a meaningful way to put those values into action. Over the next three years, Kane will complete a combination of academic study and clinical placements as part of his apprenticeship. Upon completion, he will qualify as a Registered Dietitian.

We are incredibly proud of Kane and look forward to cheering him on throughout this important journey!
