Interventions

Aside from medication there are different therapies and interventions that are useful for treating ADHD in children and young people.

NICE found that there is some evidence that supports the use of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in young people. This is something that we can offer.

CBT can support children and young people with ADHD to understand themselves and find coping strategies when things are hard. Some of the areas that can be focused on include social skills, problem solving, self-control, active listening skills, and dealing with and expressing feelings.
