Children's Autism and ADHD Assessment Team

Introduction

Introduction

Welcome to the Hull and East Riding Children’s Autism and ADHD Assessment Team

What we do

The team completes Autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people who are below the age of 18 and have a GP in Hull or the East Riding of Yorkshire. We generally assess children for Autism from the age of 3 years old and children for ADHD from the age of 6 years old. Occasionally we will assess outside of these ages but this would be for a special reason.

The team has different people working in it, these include:

  • Psychiatrists
  • Clinical Psychologists
  • Psychology Assistants
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Social Workers
  • Nurses and Associate Practitioners.

The team follows NICE Guidance and the DSM V/ICD 11 criteria to make clinical decisions.

Private Assessment Providers

Due to the high demand for Autism and ADHD assessments the team also works alongside private assessment providers who work externally to the NHS. These providers are carefully chosen by us, and their assessment processes follow the same clinical guidelines that the Humber team does.

The Neurodiversity Service is committed to helping you and your family access our services easily.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you or your child/young person access our services.
