The Language Unit supports children aged 3-11, who have severe and persistent difficulties with their speech and language development. Referrals can be made by Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists and Hull City Council SEND Officers.
Those referred to the service must attend a Hull primary school or nursery. However, the team also provides an outreach service to children attending East Riding schools or nurseries.

Children and Sessions
A child will receive one session per week of individual speech and language therapy and one session from specialist staff.
The child's mainstream school and their parents/carers will be informed of the child's targets and how to support them.
