Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy Team believe that everyone has the right to be able to engage in the occupations that they need and want to do. Occupations refer to the everyday activities people do that bring purpose and meaning to life.

We work with people to help them take part in daily activities that are important to them. This can be in different environments including home, college, work and in the community. We take a practical and person-centred approach to empower people to live their lives on their terms as much as possible.

Our care focuses on problem solving, making adaptations, overcoming barriers and positive risk taking. We are passionate about promoting peoples participation, independence and quality of life.

We can help you be more independent with:

  • Doing activities
  • Looking after yourself
  • Accessing the community
  • Being safe and well in your own home

We can also help you to:

  •   Meet your postural needs
  •   Manage your emotions
  •   Meet your sensory needs using sensory based approaches
  •   Meet your moving and handling needs

We can also help you with:

  •  Looking at your environment
  •  Choosing the right equipment
  •  Transition from children to adult services
