How Do These Services Work With HYAG?

HYAG meetings run every three weeks from 6–8pm.

Our children’s services will drop into these sessions to hear from young people. What you tell them will help make services better for young people. Flick helps run the group and is there to make sure the sessions feel comfortable and supportive.

View some of the recent sessions the HYAG has been involved at the examples below, and the kinds of things young people have helped shape.

Session Examples
  • Sensory Processing Website Pages – HYAG worked with our Sensory Processing Service to help improve the resources that were available on our website for teenagers. Our aim was to make sure young people can access information in a way that is clear and accessible.
  • Building Enhancements – HYAG are pivotal in helping to improve the environments that young people access. For example, recently they have helped with the Rivendell House Project, which is our ER CORE CAMHS Building, the building is under-going major improvements to make sure young people feel more comfortable in the services that they are accessing.
  • Electronic Patient Record – HYAG have supported Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, to ensure that young people understand how information about them is shared by and within our Trust. Young people can opt-in and opt-out of this and it’s important that this information is correctly shared with young people so they can make an empowered and informed decision.
  • CAMHS Paperwork – CAMHS are working with HYAG to improve the paperwork used in young people’s care. HYAG have supported the development of a new safety plan for young people that will be used throughout their whole CAMHS journey to avoid having to re-tell their story to different professionals. HYAG members have explained the impact that re-telling your story can have and our aim is to help prevent this.

How Will My Story Make a Difference?

When our services attend the HYAG meetings they want to listen and understand YOUR individual story and experiences. The Trust are passionate about ensuring everyone has an equal voice.

YOUR story and experiences help our services to make things better.

We believe it’s important that young people get the opportunity to understand how their story has made a difference within each service. Updates will be shared through email, newsletters or our staff coming to the group for bigger projects.
