Wider Opportunities

Joining the HYAG means you can get involved in lots of other opportunities.

Examples of Projects Include

Connect Website

This website was co-designed with Experts by Experience from the HYAG. Their involvement shaped every stage of the project. Experts by Experience contributed to:

  • Recruiting the website developers and animator
  • Planning the layout and design of each page
  • Writing and shaping the animation scripts
  • Selecting the website’s imagery
  • Speaking at events with staff, service users, and partner organisations to gather wider ideas and feedback

Our services want to see young people in spaces that feel safe and young person friendly.

Two experts by experience have supported us with the building redesign of Rivendell House with is our East Riding CORE CAMHS building.

Young people have:

  • Chosen the wall colours
  • Chosen the furniture
  • Designed artwork that is displayed in the building
  • Supported with helping improve the external space of the building

The Humber Youth Action Group were invited to Hull University to share their stories and lived experiences about mental health and neurodivergence, to help nursing students understand the importance of putting young people at the centre of what they do as this has a big impact on young people’s experiences when accessing services such as CAMHS.

Young people helped plan the day by:

  • Working in groups to answer questions the students had about CAMHS
  • Sharing their own mental health journeys and answering questions about their own personal experiences

Help fundrasie for our Children’s Services in events such as sponsored walks, bikes rides, bakes sales and collections.

  • Take part in interview panels
  • Help recruit staff who will work well within our services
