Frequently asked questions

Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked about the Humber Youth Action Group

How can I join?

To get started, simply email us at hnf-tr.hyag@nhs.net.

Our friendly team will then be in touch to arrange an introductory meeting via Microsoft Teams.

If you’re not familiar with Microsoft Teams we can arrange a phone call prior to our meeting to support you. This meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know you and ensure we can support you in joining the group.

If you're under 18, we'll contact your parent or carer after the meeting so they can complete a consent form on your behalf. If you're over 18, you'll be able to complete the form yourself.

Once the consent form is completed, you'll be invited to our upcoming sessions and kept informed through regular newsletters.

How do the sessions run?

The sessions are laid-back, fun and friendly. They are virtual over Microsoft Teams and are held every 3 weeks on varying evenings between 6.00-8.00pm. We understand you may not be able to make every session and that’s okay.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes. If they are also aged between 15-22 and they live in Hull or the East Riding of Yorkshire. They must also have an introductory meeting with us and complete a consent form before they can join a session. They can also email us via hnf-tr.hyag@nhs.net.

Can I leave if it is not for me?

Yes. You can leave at any time.

Are all the sessions online?

Most sessions are via Microsoft Teams but occasionally we have some face-to-face sessions that are optional. You will be given the opportunity to get involved in events, hosting stalls at health exhibitions, interview panels and fun events. Face-to-face sessions optional and if support with transport/ costs is needed, just let us know.

Will I be paid?

No. This a voluntary roll but we will help you to further your experience and CV and also complete references on your behalf.

What if I have questions before joining?

This is not a problem. You can reach out via our email address hnf-tr.hyag@nhs.net. If you prefer we can also arrange a face-to-face chat or video chat, talk over text or a phone call. Let us know your preference.
