Visiting

Visiting

Visits are encouraged during the day until
8:30pm.

We have a Family Visiting Room which has dining and entertainment facilities, as well as other rooms that can be used. You may also use the Communal Garden to get some fresh air and stretch your legs (accessible if informal or with Section 17 Leave). This can be particularly useful if you have younger visitors/dogs that have lots of energy and want to play.

Visitors are asked to speak with a member of the team to book their visit with at least 24 hours’ notice. This is to make sure there will be room available for your visit, although we will do our best to accommodate your visit as it is important for you to maintain contact with your friends, family and carers. If not, we may ask your visit to take place at a different time.

On arrival to Orion, you will be asked to add to an ‘approved visitors list’ of people you feel safe and comfortable with to visit. You can add or change this list at any time – please ask one of our team members to help you with this. On Orion, we have ‘protected time’ during mealtimes, so if possible please avoid arranging visits at these times.

“ Staff make time for you to talk about your feelings and to do activities as a distraction and try and make the environment as nice as can be while being in hospital and treat you with respect. ”
