CAMHS Eating Disorder Service

Introduction

Introduction

Welcome to our Hull and East Riding CAMHS Eating Disorder Service

We are a team of health professionals that specialise in the assessment, intervention, and support of young people aged up to age 18, and their families, with a suspected or confirmed eating disorder.

What we do

We provide community, evidence-based treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and related eating disorders.

Research shows that a family-based approach is most effective for children and young people.

We draw on our experience and skills together with your knowledge of your own family to help and support in the most effective way.

Our aims are:

To provide prompt assessment and intervention for young people and families experiencing eating disorders

To restore physical health and psychological wellbeing by working together in a way that is safe

To put our team values of respect, honesty, trust and hope at the centre of everything we do.

Eating Disorder Intensive Treatment Team (EDITT)

EDITT work alongside the Eating Disorder Team and offer an increased frequency of interventions and meal support (usually at home), for those young people at risk of hospital admission or to reduce the length of stay. This option can be explored if needed, as part of the whole support plan with the service.
