Health Visiting and School Nursing

Welcome to the 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nursing Services.

We support children, young people and their families across both Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Our teams include health visitors and school nurses, who work closely with a wide range of skilled practitioners to support clients from pregnancy through to a young person reaching 19 years of age, or 25 years if they have special needs and/or disabilities.

Our teams work within different settings such as the client’s homes, children’s Centres, health centres, nurseries, and education settings to offer support and evidence based advise to families.

Public Health Programme

Health visitors and school nurses work with the community to improve health and wellbeing.

Our Health visitors work with parents who have new babies, offering support and informed advice from the ante-natal period until the child starts school at 5 years and beyond. They often visit families in their home, but may also invite you to join groups, clinics, virtual session, and networks run by the health visiting team or colleagues who work with them. They also spend more time with families needing further help, advice, and support.

School nurses support and protect children and young people to reach their full health and wellbeing potential in all settings throughout their school aged years.
